Abstract:

Increasing costs associated with current uncoupling repair (CUR) of a rolling stock exert a negative effect on financial performance of Russian operating companies. OAO Russian Railways (RZD) charges prices for CUR independently in repair facilities within the company’s jurisdiction. At the same time, in Russia, there is no common approach to pricing of current uncoupling repair. The study analyzes the specifics of the pricing of current uncoupling repair. The factors behind a steady increase in its cost are determined. The authors believe that designing a common approach to pricing policy for current uncoupling repair will allow one to enhance the efficiency of the logistics process for operating companies in Russia.
