Abstract:

The complexity and diversity of organizational processes and relationships require a holistic approach to be applied to study them. Structure and organizational culture are critical components of an organization. A coordination profile acts as one of the main organizational factors determining peculiarities of the structural-functional order of the organizational system. Joint updating of the organizational culture and coordination profile shapes a unique character of the organizational configuration, which suggests that the structuralcultural continuum of the organizational system is an integrative phenomenon reflecting a synergistic complementarity of its elements. To assess the structural-cultural continuum, a structuralcultural multiplier is used, i.e. the matrix of logical functions of the conjunction of the arguments "a share of a coordination mechanism" and "a share of the type of culture" in the respective profiles of the organization. The description of typical features of the structural-cultural continuum of the organization at the stages of its life cycle allows obtaining a comprehensive assessment of organizational configurations and formulating more informed conclusions about the current stage of development of the organization.
