Abstract:

The article presents the findings of an empirical research on behavior of a large industrial company of the Ural region in the sphere of remuneration and employment in the period 2010–2014. The research is based on the case study method and econometric analysis. The paper examines the correlation between the external and internal environmental factors within an organization that affect companies’ behavior, the quality of regular management and presence of intangible assets. The first attempt ever was made to assess the influence of expatriate managers’ professionalism on taking managerial decisions in an industrial company. Given the heterogeneous context (internal and external environments), the policy of an industrial company in the field of wage and employment was simulated. It was found that under certain economic conditions an industrial company displays a behaviour pattern aimed at maintaining staff numbers and the size of remuneration, and that specialists and employees are under the biggest threat.
