Abstract: The article looks at the concept and major types of motivation. It points out the influential role of personnel motivation in building a professional team at a small enterprise. The paper analyzes possible consequences of incorrectly devised system of motivation and gives some examples of economic growth in an economic entity triggered by the set of measures designed to boost personnel satisfaction with working conditions.
