Abstract: The article reviews the ways to improve the Russian model of management and incorporate successful foreign practices into it. It is noted that today the European model is closer to the Russian one than any other. In this regard, the author compares the Russian and foreign management practices and emphasizes the opportunities to modify the domestic method. The author recommends the following priority steps to carry out such a modification: incorporating the potential of employees into the company management and using “soft management skills”.
