Retail Trade in Sverdlovsk Oblast: Problems of Logistics and Integration

Abstract:

The paper analyses regularities and prospects for development of retail trade using the case of Sverdlovsk oblast. The authors pay special attention to the expansion of integration processes and diversification in the region’s retail trade. We determine the position of the retail industry in the agroindustrial complex of the country and examine the problems associated with the development of retail trade at the modern evolution stage of Russia’s economy. The article clarifies the following concepts: integration, concentration and diversification in retail trade. It explores the current state and future prospects for logistics in the region. Having analysed the processes occurring in retail trade at the present moment, we identify the directions for its development in Sverdlosvk oblast.
