Abstract: The author scrutinizes methodological approaches and identifies main directions to improve the mechanism for investment management in regional economic systems. The principles and priorities for modernization of investment infrastructure of territories on the basis of regional and functional investment clusters formation are established. The rationale behind the introduction of progressive forms and methods to regulate investment activity is proved.
