Abstract: In the paper the prioritized directions in optimising social­demographic processes in the subjects of the Ural Federal District are proved. These priorities will allow to reduce death rate, improve birth rate as well as alleviate adverse effects of those social­demographic tendencies which cannot be changed soon.
